New Delhi: The Home Ministry has decided to scarp a tender worth Rs 150 crore to buy 59,000 bullet proof jackets meant for paramilitary forces.
The decision came after a member of the technical evaluation committee of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) admitted in a sting operation to have fudged and manipulated technical data to favour some vendors.
The ministry has recommended disciplinary action against RK Verma, the DRDO official and has reordered trials in the tender.
