Govt slams Opposition over Parliament logjam

New Delhi: Faced with the Opposition's heat and continued logjam of Parliament, the government has appealed to the parties not to disrupt the normal functioning of Parliament.

Addressing a press conference today, Congress leaders Kapil Sibal, Ambika Soni and Salman Khurshid said the government is ready for any debate, and that the political parties should allow Parliament to function.

"We want Parliament to run, it shouldn't be disrupted because crucial and historical bills are to be tabled on the floor of the House," Mr Sibal said.

But at the same time, the Congress leaders slammed the BJP-led Opposition. "There is no indictment of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in the CAG report, there is a reference," Mr Sibal said. "Reference does not mean indictment," added Ms Soni.
