Maharashtra government will soon make mandatory the installation of Global Positioning System (GPS) trackers in taxis and autorickshaws in the state.
"GPS trackers would help locate the vehicles," state Transport Minister Diwakar Raote said today.
He announced this while speaking to reporters at a taxi stand outside Vidhan Bhavan after launching a scheme to reserve front seat of shared taxi cabs for women.
