Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday has begun his three-day tour of north Gujarat ahead of the assembly polls next month. He will visit six districts of North Gujarat. Yesterday, he visited two of the most famous temples in the state- Ambaji temple and Akshardham temple.After his arrival this morning, Mr Gandhi went straight to Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar, offered prayers to Lord Swaminarayan and launched his three-day tour of the region, which will cover six districts. At night, Mr Gandhi visited famous Goddess Amba temple at Ambaji in Banaskantha district of north Gujarat. Rahul performed aarti and pooja at the temple amid chanting of 'Jai Ambe Maa' by party workers and devotees. Today, he will interact with Social Media and IT Volunteers at Ambaji International Hotel, hold a public meeting at Rampur Cross Road, Palanpur. Later he will visit Wadinath Temple, Sada Ram Bapu Ashram at Totana and will hold a public meeting at Pragati Maidan, Patan. The 182-member Gujarat Assembly will go to the polls in two phases -- on December 9 and 14.
