German Ambassador to India Michael Steiner today met Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel in Ahmedabad and discussed his country's model of imparting vocational training and skill development to the youths with her.
"During their meeting they discussed on vocational training and skill development," an official statement said.
Germany's Apprenticeship Model is well-acclaimed and Gujarat should take inputs and engage in qualitative vocational training, Ms Patel told Mr Steiner.
Gujarat and Germany can collaborate in the field of skill development to empower the youth, which will give a boost to their employability in MSMEs, she said.
Ms Patel said that forming 'skill clusters' with the motive to encourage skill-development in the state will enable Gujarat to be a model state for vocational training and skill development.
The German Ambassador gave details on incentives given to the German industries for providing vocational training to the youth.
