consuming spurious liquor, the death toll in the hooch tragedy rose to 86 on Thursday.
Several others are still undergoing treatment.
According to reports, the crime branch has arrested 24 bootleggers including an alleged kingpin Hari Om Kahar. Hari Om already has over 15 cases of prohibition registered against him.
Six police officials including two DySP rank officers and four PIs have been suspended and transfered in wake of the deaths.
Minister of State for Home Amit Shah had on Wednesday announced the formation of an enquiry commission headed by Retd High Court Justice Kamal Mehta to probe into the hooch tragedy and the report has to be submitted by November 30, 2009.
