Gujarat monument to be renovated; thanks to Big B

After a suggestion from Bollywood megastar and Gujarat Brand ambassadorAmitabh Bachchan, Kutch district administration is sending a proposal aboutrenovating the historical Prag Mahal, damaged in 2001 earthquake, to the stategovernment and Gujarat Tourism Development Corporation.  "The proposal to repair Prag Mahal wouldbe forwarded to government for its consideration, since it was learnt that it'sa private property," said Kutch district collector M Thenarsan. 

Prag Mahal, one of the major tourist attractions in Bhuj,was built in 1879 by Rao Pragmalji II. Amitabh Bachchan, who had recently shotan advertisement at the Prag Mahal to promote tourism in Gujarat, proposed therenovation as the Prag Mahal sees hundreds of footfalls every day. And, when thesuggestion came from Big B himself, the Kutch district administration was morethan willing to oblige.
