Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh: In a chilling video, apparently shot on a mobile phone, a bottle is placed on the head of an elderly man, as another man in a green T shirt takes aim at it with a gun and misses.
The man with a gun remarks that he missed; he also compliments the terrified older man for the way he balances the bottle. "Put a bottle on his head, I want to try out my aim," he is heard saying and then turns to the elderly man and says, "If I miss, you are finished."
In another portion of the video, he is seen raining blows with a whip on the older man.
The video was allegedly shot at Khan Mubarak's behest in February this year; he had accused Bazu Khan of insulting him. At one point, the businessman touches his feet begging that he be allowed to go.
The police say they can only register a case if the family asks them to. "If the family files a complaint or if some other information comes to light, we will take action," said senior policeman Pankaj Kumar.
Khan Mubarak was arrested later this year in a gang war case and is in jail.
Rival parties allege that Khan Mubarak is close to a leader of the Samajwadi Party, which rules UP.
