Baramulla Gunbattle: Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area
A gunbattle broke out between terrorists and security forces at Hardshoora village in north Kashmir's Baramulla district this morning.
Acting on an intelligence report about the presence of terrorists in the village, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area, a police official said.
He confirmed that "a gun battle broke out when the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated.
Three terrorists are reportedly holed up in a house.
A police officer has reportedly been killed, and a civilian is believed to have been injured. An intermittent exchange of firing is currently on between the two sides.
