Harish Rawat to the rescue

Dehradun:

Post delimitation, for the first time since 1984, the Congress is back in the reckoning in Haridwar.

The only one who seems to have benefited with the new delimitation is Harish Rawat, a Rajya Sabha MP, who now has an edge since the Garhwali votes are scattered in the Assembly segments of Dharampur, Doiwala and Rishikesh.

For once, the Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi are on the back foot in these assembly segments. The BJP candidate, Yatindranand Giri is virtually unknown, except in the Vishwa Hindu Parishad camp.

The boxing ring, which was curiously three cornered, has now become a regular square with Harish Rawat ready to take on his opponents.
