Haryana Extends Lockdown Till June 21, Shops Can Stay Open For Longer Hours

All educational institutes in Haryana will continue to remain closed till further orders, the state government said.

Haryana on Sunday reported 339 new COVID-19 cases.

The Haryana government on Sunday extended the statewide Covid-induced lockdown by a week, till June 21, allowing a few relaxations amid a dip in the daily cases. Doing away with the odd-even formula, the state government allowed all shops to open from 9 am to 8 pm, an official order said.

All educational institutes in the state will continue to remain closed till further orders, it said.

Restaurants and bars, including in hotels and malls, are allowed to open from 10 am to 10 pm.
Giving further relaxations, gyms are now allowed to open from 6 am to 8 pm with 50 per cent capacity after adopting requisite social distancing norms, regular sanitisation and Covid-appropriate behavioural norms. However, spas shall remain closed, said an official order.

The other relaxations allowed in the last order will also remain in place- Malls will be allowed to open from 10 am to 8 pm, a maximum of 21 people will be permitted to gather in religious places at one time, corporate offices permitted to open with 50 per cent attendance. The cap of 21 people on gatherings for wedding and funerals and 50 people for gatherings other than these remain in place the latest order.

Sports complexes, stadia have been permitted to open but only for sports activities, without spectators.

The lockdown, clamped in the state on May 3, was earlier extended till June 14 as a preventive and precautionary measure to stem the spread of the disease.

Haryana on Sunday reported 43 Covid-related deaths taking the cumulative fatalities to 8,992 while 339 fresh infections pushed the total case count to 7,65,861.
