Haryana today allowed government and private schools in the state to resume offline classes for the students of Class 4 and Class 5 from September 1 as daily Covid cases in the state continue to decline.
The offline classes will be held with strict adherence to all Covid protocols issued by the department, State Education Minister Kanwar Pal said.
Students will be allowed to attend school with prior permission from their parents as per the letter issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, he said.
The Covid situation is now under control, the minister said, adding, all preparations have been made to reopen schools. The state will, however, continue to run online classes for the students.
Offline classes resumed in the state for students of Classes 9-12 from July 16 and for Classes 6-8 from July 23.
Schools in Haryana had opened briefly after the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic but had to be shut earlier this year when the second wave swept through the country, producing a tidal wave of infections and related fatalities.
On Tuesday, the state had recorded 18 cases of coronavirus infection with one related death. There are over 600 active cases in the state, which has a recovery rate of 98.66%.
