New Delhi:
Shraddha Kapoor stars as titular
Haseena Parkar in Apoorva Lakhia's film on gangster Dawood Ibrahim's sister, who became popular as Aapa, a name that sent shivers in Mumbai's Nagpada area, as the filmmakers say in the trailer, which released on Tuesday.
Shraddha Kapoor is quite convincing as Haseena Parkar as her dialogue delivery and expressions may raise the hair at the back of your neck. The film chronicles Haseena Parkar's journey from her early days as Dawood Ibrahim's sister and later as Aapa - a result of the brutalities she endured because she was Dawood Ibrahim's sister.
Shraddha's brother Siddhanth Kapoor plays the role of Dawood Ibrahim, who headed Mumbai-based organised crime syndicate D-Company and was also accused of the 1993 Mumbai blasts. In the trailer, Apoorva Lakhia shows that Haseena's life was never easy and it became even more difficult after Dawood Ibrahim was accused in the Mumbai blasts. Circumstances
transform Haseena to Aapa, who may be as ruthless as her brother.

Haseena Parkar Talking about capturing Haseena Parkar's story from age 17 to 40, Apoorva Lakhia said it was "easier to get Shraddha to play a 17-year-old but I also wanted to see if Shraddha was up for the challenge of ageing as the film spans 40 years," reported
Mumbai Mirror. He added that they filmed "in chronological order to capture the weight gain in the correct sequence."
Haseena Parkar also stars Rajesh Tailang, Ankur Bhatia and Sunil Upadhyay. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on August 18.
