A teenager in Assam has been arrested for allegedly killing his two young stepbrothers, whose bodies were found two days after they went missing on Friday. The two boys were found dead on Saturday, with their throats slit.
The boys, students of class 5 and 6, left for school on Friday (December 20) but never returned, which prompted a search operation. According to the police, their stepbrother Neeraj Sharma, had taken them to school on his motorbike.
Neeraj reportedly told the police that he slit the throats of his stepbrothers after taking them to an isolated area.
Senior police officer Vivek Raj Singh confirmed that Neeraj had been arrested and that crucial evidence, including the motorbike and the murder weapon, has been recovered.
Upon questioning, Neeraj reportedly told the police that he felt neglected and resentful towards their father, and felt a lack of attention towards him.
The case has sparked shock and anger in the community, with local women staging protests and asking for swift justice.
