Headmasters Suspended For Attending Election Training Programme Drunk

Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu: Three school headmasters in Ramanathapuram district were suspended today for attending an election training programme held earlier this month in an inebriated state, officials said.

John Thomas of Mallanur Panchayat Elementary School, Raja of an aided school at Orikottai and Dharmaraj of Thenur Elementary School had been found drunk during the training programme held on May 12 at Keezha Muslim Higher Secondary school in Paramakudi, Jesurathinam, District Elementary School Education Officer said.

They also entered into a wordy duel with the Election Officer for conducing training class for a long duration.

Medical tests, conducted as per the orders of sub collector Sameeran, confirmed that the three attended the training programme after taking liquor, following which he recommended to the Director of Elementary Education to take disciplinary action against the three.
