In life, there are moments when a stranger indirectly changes our life. A heartwarming example of this is the story of an elderly woman, who discovered a source of income by selling water in front of Mannat (Shah Rukh Khan's residence), during special occasions.
This woman's journey began two years ago when someone advised her to sell water near Mannat on Shah Rukh Khan's birthday (November 2). Sharing her tale with Humans of Bombay, she said, “Two years ago, someone said - ‘Shahrukh ka birthday aa raha hain….Mannat ke saamne paani bech, tera kharcha nikal jaayega.[Shah Rukh Khan's birthday is coming up... sell water in front of Mannat, it will cover your expenses.]' At first, I wondered if it was a joke. And then, I thought – ‘What's the harm in trying?' But nothing could've prepared me for what I saw there that day! Itne log — aisa lag raha tha ki mela hai! [So many people — it felt like a fair!] Everyone just wanted to look at him! It was then that I realised that this was no joke. It was the most I had made in a day, ever.”
“And as time went on, I went back for Christmas, Diwali, and all special occasions when Bandstand would be crowded with people. Today also business is the same – kabhi kharcha nikal jata hai, aur kabhi nahi. [Sometimes expenses get covered, sometimes they are not.] But ever since that year, I have made it a point to come here for Shah Rukh Khan's birthday! It's that one day of the year when I definitely make money. It's so random, he doesn't even know me, yet he has made a difference to my life. Sahi kehte hai sab — Baadshah toh woh hai! [Everyone says it right — He's the king!],” she added.

On Thursday, Shah Rukh celebrated his 58th birthday, and his countless fans ensured to extend their personal wishes by gathering outside his residence. The Badshah Of Bollywood also hosted a party for his friends and industry colleagues.
