Mathura:
Nearly 100 houses have collapsed due to heavy rains in the district in the last few days, a senior official said in Mathura on Wednesday.
"Of the 99 house collapse incidents in the district, 48 were reported in Hathia village of Chhatta Tehsil," District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra Shukla said.
Owing to discharge of 7.44 lakh cusec of water from Hathini Kund barrage and later from Tajewala, the flood water has started entering into Babugarh village of Chhatta Tehsil, which was being evacuated, officials said.
According to irrigation department, Yamuna was flowing 96 cms above danger mark at Prayag Ghat in Mathura.
Mathura Goverdhan road is under water at village Jamunavata and on the outskirts of Ading village. Owing to heavy rains, most of the agricultural land in Goverdhan village have got waterlogged.
