Heavy Rains In Uttar Pradesh, Major Rivers Above Danger Mark
The Met department has predicted rain and thundershowers at many places in Uttar Pradesh.
Lucknow: With monsoon remaining active and rains lashing many parts of Uttar Pradesh, major rivers of the state such as the Ghagra and Sharda are flowing above the danger level at various places.

Heavy rains lashed in several parts of Western UP with Jhansi receiving 12 cm of rainfall followed by Auraiya, 11 cm, Thakurdwara, 10 cm, Iglas, Kalpi, 9 cm each, Puwayan, 8 cm, Swar, 7 cm, Varanasi, Agra, Bagpat, Nagina, Hamipur and Moth, 5 cm each, the Met department said in Lucknow.

According to a Central Water Commission (CWC) report, the Ghagra was flowing near the 'red' mark at Elgin Bridge (Barabanki) and Turtipar (Ballia).

The water level of Sharda has also crossed the danger mark at Palliakalan (Kheri).

Ganga, Rapti and Rohini were also flowing above the danger level at Fatehgarh and Kanpur, Balrampur and Mahrajganj respectively, the report said.

The Met department has predicted rain and thundershowers at many places in the state.
