Jalandhar: SSB personnel have seized heroin worth around Rs 50 crore in the international market from a village in Amritsar district on Indo-Pakistan border, SSB IG Aditya Mishra said on Thursday.
The narcotics, weighing around ten kg, was seized on Wednesday from Daoke village, Mr Mishra said.
"Pakistani smugglers on Wednesday threw 10 packets of heroin into Daoke village in Amritsar on Indo-Pak border. Each packet weighs around 1 kg. Value of the seized heroin in international market would be Rs 50 crore," Mr Mishra said.
The suspected smugglers used a PVC pipe to transport the drugs, he said, adding, they escaped after throwing the drugs into the border village.
