New Delhi:
Actress Nargis Fakhri had somewhat of an unexpected encounter with a fan of Katrina Kaif recently, an experience, which she shared with her followers on Twitter and described simply as "weird." In tweets over the weekend, the 37-year-old actress revealed that she was misidentified as her colleague Katrina Kaif by a fan, who walked up to her asking for a photograph - what the fan actually wanted was to be clicked with Katrina. Nargis added in her tweet that she responded with a brief reply, clarifying she's not Katrina. Now that there was no Katrina, the fan was happy to have been clicked with the actress for her apparent resemblance to the 32-year-old actress. Nargis, who appeared to have been taken aback with the encounter, tweeted: "Amazing how people just go ahead and take a picture of you not knowing who you are, even when you say no, they do it anyway. So weird."
In a previous tweet, sharing the details of the incident, Nargis wrote: "A man just said 'Hi, Katrina can I take a pic?' I said 'thanks but I'm not her.' He said 'oh, ok I'll take a pic of you anyway cuz you look like her."
Meanwhile, a member of Twitterati said Katrina and Nargis can easily be confused as each other for being "beautiful in their own ways." "Yeah you both look quite similar and both of you are beautiful in your own ways...Keep shining Nargis." Umm, well, Nargis had a reply to that as well.
Riteish Deshmukh, who co-starred with Nargis in Banjo, reacted to Nargis' tweets and said:
ABCD 2 actress Lauren Gottlieb could only face-palm to this.
Nargis Fakhri is one of those celebrities who help fans keep up with her through social media posts. Last seen in Banjo, she has not announced her next project yet but keeps her Instagram diary updated with what's going on in her life. In July, she starred in four films - Azhar, Banjo and Housefull 3 along with a small role in Dishoom - after which it was reported that she has taken a sabbatical from Bollywood due to exhaustion.
However, in an interview to PTI this year, she said she also wants to involve herself in projects outside the world of cinema: "Acting is not the only thing...I want to do a lot in life. When you are on sets you are always acting you are not interacting with people in life and not learning anything new. There is so much more to learn and do different things in life. I want to balance things by doing acting and other things."
Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif is looking forward to the release of Anurag Basu-directed Jagga Jasoos, her third film with rumoured ex Ranbir Kapoor.
