High Court backs Jairam Ramesh on Lavasa
Pune: In a set back to the Lavasa project near Pune in Maharashtra, the Bombay High Court has upheld the Environment Ministry's notice to stop work at the site.

The court has also asked the ministry's team to visit Lavasa site for three days before passing a final order on the project.

The ministry will pass a final order on the project on January 10.

The Bombay High Court also asked the Maharashtra government if they can form a three-member committee to study issues of transfer of land, displacement and impact on water supply.
