Highlights: Nitish Kumar on Presidential polls
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister and senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar speaks on his party's stand on its presidential candidate. Here are the highlights of his press conference today:

  • We are amid talks.
  • JD(U) is a part of NDA, every one met at the NDA meeting, and we all discussing. And we all came to conclusion that we need to discuss further.
  • According to the JD(U) protocol, we had representation at the NDA meet. We will have more meetings.
  • Have not spoken to PA Sangma. I was busy, I was told he wanted to talk.
  • Decision will have nothing to do with political relationship. We have a good relationship with everybody.
  • The PM had called me after Pranab Mukherjee was announced as its candidate. He asked for our support. Pranab-da had also called, but that was more casual. He did not ask for support.
  • NDA is trying to create a consensus. Until that happens, there is no point in discussing.
  • There is no divide (in NDA). We have time till June 30. We have time, we'll take it and decide.
