Srinivas Kuchibhotla was attacked by Adam Purlinton in a Kansas bar
Ms Clinton, who unsuccessfully contested as the Democratic candidate in the US Presidential election against Mr Trump, tweeted:
President Trump is yet to comment on the incident which left Kuchibhotla dead and injured two others. Mr Trump's press secretary Sean Spicer, however, last week said that it was too early to describe the incident as a hate crime. With threats & hate crimes on rise, we shouldn't have to tell @POTUS to do his part. He must step up & speak out.

Mr Spicer also referred to the incident yesterday while addressing President Trump's concerns against recent acts of vandalism against Jewish cemeteries in St Louis and Philadelphia.
"No one in America should feel afraid to follow the religion of their choosing freely and openly. The president has dedicated to preserving this originating principle of our nation," Mr Spicer said, at a press briefing.
"And while we're at it, I don't want to get ahead of law enforcement, but I was asked the other day about the story in Kansas, the shooting in Kansas. And while the story is evolving, early reports out of Kansas are equally disturbing," he said.
On Wednesday, last week, Indian engineers Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani were attacked by 51-year-old Adam Purlington, who opened fire inside a Kansas City bar after racially abusing them with chants of "get out of my country" and "terrorist".
