New Delhi:
Voters in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh, where assembly polls are to be held next month, will now get details of their polling booths and poll officials on the map of Election Commission's (EC) website.
The Election Commission has provided the new facility to enable the voters to see their names in electoral rolls and see the location of their polling booths, besides getting contact details of the poll officials.
Polling Station locations of National Capital Territory of Delhi and Himachal Pradesh have already been plotted on maps and can be seen by citizens when they visit the concerned page on the Election Commission website www.eci.nic.in.
"Polling Station locations of rest of the country are being plotted and will be available very soon on the website," said an EC release.
A tab "Information Linked to Polling Station Maps" has been provided on the left hand side panel of the Commission website and citizens can have their details by clicking on the tab.
Users can activate the satellite image layer and even see the polling station buildings and get directions for reaching their booths.
The facility will enable voters in Himachal Pradesh to locate their polling booths before casting their votes, EC officials said. Himachal goes to assembly polls on November 4.
