The state government which had declared 'Karva Chauth' falling on October 30 as holiday for women employees, today declared it as 'local holiday' for government employees serving in Shimla and adjoining areas.
The government also declared the first Navratra falling on October 13 as local holiday for employees.
However, these would not be holidays within the meaning of Section-25 of Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 and not applicable to daily paid employees but employees of Boards and Corporation would be covered, a government notification in Shimla said.
