The BJP today released its Himachal Pradesh state election manifesto in Shimla today. The Congress had released its manifesto on Saturday.
The BJP in its manifesto has promised 10 lakh jobs for the youth of the state. Creating jobs for the youth seems to be the common agenda across manifestos of the Congress and the BJP. The Congress too promises to create 1 lakh jobs a year for the youth.
The BJP manifesto also mentions that free induction cookers for all gas connection holders and free pilgrimages to senior citizens of the state.
The BJP also promises free medicines in government hospitals across the state if elected to power.
In comparison, the Congress promises laptops to 10 thousand meritorious class 10 and 12 students of the state. It also promises Rs 1000 per month as unemployment allowance to unemployed youth whose family income is below Rs 2 lakhs.
As many as 4.59 million voters will cast their ballots November 4 at 7,253 polling stations across Himachal Pradesh. The votes will be counted December 20, after the Gujarat assembly polls are over.
Sonia Gandhi is in Mandi today and is the first high-profile leader to campaign in the state.
