New Delhi:
BJP President Amit Shah along with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Saturday night.
Sources said that the two leaders discussed the party's strategy as well as BJP candidates for the by-polls with PM Modi in order to fill up the vacancies in the Lok Sabha and various assembly constituencies in the states.
Among the constituencies is the Vadodara Lok Sabha seat which Prime Minister Modi vacated after winning it with a record margin. He had to vacate the Vadodara seat as he decided to retain the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.
The meeting also deliberated on the responsibilities to be assigned to the newly-constituted team of BJP office-bearers and other issues related to the party were also discussed, said sources.
The office-bearers were recently chosen by party chief Amit Shah, the closest confidant of PM Modi.
The BJP Parliamentary Board, the highest policy-making forum of the party, is likely to be reconstituted soon.
