Home Minister Rajnath Singh today pulled off a movie-style escape after being stuck in an elevator at a government building in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj. After some anxious moments, he finally had to be hoisted up through the roof of the elevator.
The incident took place at the headquarters of the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which is celebrating the "Shaurya Diwas" today.
Mr Singh got stuck in the elevator with the CRPF Director General and the Minister of State for Home, Kiran Rijiju. When the lift refused to budge, they pressed the alarm.
Reports suggest that the 63-year-old Home Minister was the last to be hauled up through the roof, after the CRPF top officer and the junior home minister.
Mr Singh later shared the story with his audience.
