Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on 'Amanat' case, jawan killings: highlights
New Delhi: In his address, Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde touched upon the security measures that have been put in place after the brutal gang-rape of the 23-year-old medical student in Delhi and the recent killing of the Indian soldiers. Below are the highlights:

On Delhi gang-rape case:
  • Police will increase patrolling
  • Committee to be appointed in police stations  to cases  of crime against women
  • Police stations to have a help desk for women
On Indo-Pak visa deal:
  • The visa agreement with Pakistan will be carried out. We are not rethinking the agreement
  • Whatever agreement we entered into, we will honour that

On Telangana:

  • On Dec 28, I have sought the views of all parties. We will come to a decision in a month.

On the killing of jawans:

  • We have information that Hafiz Saeed went to the Line of Control few days before the incident
  • I cannot say that whether he was involved in the incident 

On Jharkhand:

  • We have received preliminary report from Jharkhand Governor
  • Governor will wait for constitutional provisions to be completed
  • No decision yet on whether or not impose President Rule

On Latehar incident:

  • The incident has not reduced the morale of our jawans
  • Maoists come up with new techniques every time
