New Delhi:
Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde addressed the media on yesterday's blast in Bangalore near the BJP office. Here are the highlights of what he said:
- There was no specific alert - we had an alert on incidents may occur in metropolitan cities
- No question of delaying or derailing the Karnataka elections; elections will be held on tim
- We have not given specific alerts for any temples, mosques or churches. We only do so if we get a specific input
- If we have we will share with states
- I assure the nation that we will book the perpetrators and we're on the right track
- Have ordered time bound inquiry into incident against Mamata Banerjee, Amit Mitra
- No one has approached us so far (on Boston Marathon 'pressure cooker' bombs)
- Badal ji and his son handed over the same representation that was given to PM, President. It is under consideration (On clemency petition of Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar)
- It cannot be said who was responsible for the Hyderabad blasts
- I haven't received any letter regarding CPM's complaint against West Bengal Governor as yet. But I know that it will come to me
- As far as I am concerned 1 mercy petition is pending and 2 are with the President
- We are habitual to clear the backlog
- I agree families must be informed but secrecy must be maintained (on hanging those who have been given the death penalty)
