Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's monthly briefing: Highlights
New Delhi: Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde addressed the media in his monthly briefing. Mr Shinde spoke on the Bodh Gaya blasts and the Ishrat Jahan case. Here are the highlights of Mr Shinde's address:

  • Bihar Chief Minister has written to me for CISF security. A similar demand has been by Maharashtra Govt for security to Sai Baba temple.
  • However, CISF has a mandate and works under a law, we will have to look into demands.
  • The Delhi Police reports to Lieutenant Governor. I do not want intervene in their functioning.
  • The new NCTC proposal should not create problems for states. I tried to smoothen the rough edge. But if states don't want it, then we can't push it through.
  • Authenticity of twitter claims will have to be checked. No surety that these were made by Indian Mujahideen.
