Even after the death of over 80 people in the Ahmedabad hooch tragedy the liquor is available in Gujarat.
A slum dweller in Odhav who fell sick after taking a pouch containing spurious liquor was fortunate enough to survive but more than 85 others have died so far in the Ahmedabad hooch tragedy.
The Gujarat police claims to have cracked down on the illegal hooch trade.
But in an undercover operation NDTV managed to obtain a pouch of the illict liquor and it wasn't difficult to get. The only difference the so-called crackdown has made is that the liquor comes at a higher price.
Clearly, the police have not learnt any lesson yet again turning a blind eye to the sale of illicit liquor in a state where it is prohibited.
