Jabalpur: After taking on Home Minister P Chidambaram, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has now trained his guns on Human Resources Minister (HRD) Kapil Sibal.

Speaking in Jabalpur, Digvijaya said the HRD Ministry should shift its focus from higher education to developing the school system.

"The need at the moment is that the HRD ministry should pay more attention to the development of schools education and skill development centres rather than higher education, and I have full faith in the HRD ministry and they will look into the matter," said Digvijaya Singh.

On Friday, Kapil Sibal announced that the HRD Ministry has decided that medicine will be taught at the IITs, to facilitate research across disciplines. (Read and watch: Medicine to be taught at IIT, says Kapil Sibal)
