The husband of a 28-year-old Indian woman, who was allegedly burned to death in New Zealand, has been charged with her murder.
Diwesh Kumar Sharma, 29, was charged with murder and remanded in custody until Tuesday as he appeared before Hamilton District Court, Radio New Zealand reported.
Sharma flew out of New Zealand to Fiji, along with their son Akash, On January 21, a day after his wife Ranjeeta Sharma, 28, was spotted burning by the side of an isolated road near Huntly in that country.
He was arrested by Fiji police after an Interpol alert.
He is also facing an earlier charge of breaching bail.
