Hyderabad blasts: Abdul Kaleem, man 'behind' Aseemanand's confession, gets bail

Hyderabad blasts: Abdul Kaleem, man 'behind' Aseemanand's confession, gets bail
Hyderabad: A city court today granted bail to Abdul Kaleem, one of the men held in connection with the twin blasts in Hyderabad in 2007 and the man believed to be behind Swami Aseemanand's confession.

Kaleem, who was arrested in 2007 along with several other Muslims after the blasts, was charged at that time with waging a conspiracy against the state.

He was released after a year and a half in custody but was arrested again when he went to meet his brother, Khaja who was lodged in the Chanchalguda jail. This time, he was accused of trying to pass on a cellphone to his brother.

It was during this time when Kaleem came in contact with Aseemanand who had been brought to Hyderabad following his arrest in Haridwar in November 2010 in connection with the Mecca Masjid blasts.

Aseemanand reportedly had a change of heart during this period when he learnt that Kaleem had been falsely implicated in the case, something that led to his confession.
