New Delhi:
Not exactly the sort of passenger you might want on your flight. A businessman declared he had a bomb and would blow up the Jet Airways plane he was taking to Chennai, allegedly because he was exasperated with being put through multiple security checks.
His claims also ensured that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was moved to a different flight on Monday - her security overheard the remarks.
As the daughter of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Mrs Vadra, 44, is provided security through the Special Protection Group or SPG.
"The passenger, who is into business and was travelling with a Chinese exporter, was carrying with him some metallic item and had undergone two security checks. When he was asked to open the baggage again, he got irritated and told the CISF personnel that he was carrying a bomb and will blow up the aircraft," said unnamed sources to news agency PTI.
"All the passengers, cargo and baggage were deplaned and a thorough search was carried out," sources in the Central Industrial Security Force, which guards the airport, said.
The businessman was interrogated and later released. He may want to consider anger management tips.
