IIM Ahmedabad tries for new record
Ahmedabad: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) students tried to enter Limca Book of Records by toppling over 11,000 dominoes to unveil a design of their golden jubilee logo.
     
"The current Indian record of toppling 7,000 dominoes is held by Microsoft India. We have notified Limca Book of Records for our today's effort and are sure to have made a new record," secretary of IIM-A media cell Glen D'silva said.
    
A team of about 20 students were working to make it a success, D'silva said adding that the first push to dominoes was given by IIM-A director Dr Samir Barua.

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A)kicked off its year long golden jubilee celebrations.
    
The chief guest of the function was Mrinalini Sarabhai, a noted classic danseuse and wife of renowned scientists Vikram Sarabhai, who had established the institute 50 years ago.
    
All the former directors and professors of the institute were present at the inaugural function.
    
Sarabhai in her speech praised the progress made by the institute in its 50 years journey which gained the reputation as one of the best B-schools in the country.
    
However, she also advised IIM-A students not to forget poor people after they pass out from the school and start getting hefty salaries.
