IIT-Bombay Students To Wear Khadi For Grad Ceremony
The institute has adopted khadi to inculcate feeling of nationalism in the students.
New Delhi: The IIT Bombay has placed an order for 3,500 convocation robes made of khadi cotton, inculcating the feeling of nationalism in the students.

"After Gujarat University, now khadi has also made a niche in the hearts of authorities of premier Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay," the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises said in a statement.

They have placed an order for "3,500 uttarias or angavastrams" made of honey comb towel cotton khadi for use by students at the time of convocation, it said.

The institute has adopted khadi to inculcate feeling of nationalism in the students, IIT, Mumbai Director Devang Khakhar said.
