New Delhi: It's a big day for students who appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination for the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology as the results for the IIT-JEE will be declared today.
More than 5.6 lakh students had appeared for the IIT-JEE on April 8 this year. There are close to 9,590 seats spread across 15 IITs. The competition is tough as only one out of 53 candidates is likely to make the cut.
The entrance examination was mired in controversy this year with four wrong questions worth 14 marks. While students say they should be given the marks for wrong questions, authorities say that's not possible. However, the students will be not be ed for the error and there will be no negative marking.
