New Delhi: Directors and faculty members from IITs across the country met up on Saturday to discuss pay scale and other performance related changes that the faculty has been demanding for over a month now.
After the Human Resource Minister (HRD) Minister's assurance on Friday on flexibility in the IIT system, decision was taken on Saturday by the faculty members to constitute committees to look into their concerns.
Two committees will be formed within the next two months to look into salary and performance related issues.
This comes a day after HRD Minister Kapil Sibal, following Friday's meeting with a federation of IIT teachers, announced that the standoff with IIT professors is over.
"All issues have been resolved. There's no disagreement, we're on same side," Sibal had said, adding, "We are ready to revisit anything that's good for the IIT faculty."
