Directors of Indian Institute of Technology campuses across the country have proposed to convene an annual joint tech meet, according to Press Trust of India sources.
The news agency reported that the directors held a discussion at IIT-Kanpur earlier this month and were enthusiastic about the idea.
Presently, many IIT campuses hold their individual tech fests.
"The Directors felt that at the moment holding a separate stand-alone meet may not be feasible but as a pilot project the idea should be taken up. The idea is that an inter-IIT meet can clubbed with the annual tech fest of one of these institutions," PTI quoted their source as saying.
The agency added that the inter-IIT tech fest may be held in rotation in which the brightest from these institutions can participate and compete in various events, much like the inter-IIT sports meet.
