Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh):
There were 900 passengers on the Rajdhani from Mumbai to Delhi that Ankur Kaamra was traveling on when he woke up to shouts that the train was on fire.
He then helped women and children to get off the train, risking his own safety.
The cause of the fire is still not clear.
Ankur, in his forties, was the only one who was injured.
"All the adults had got off the train and the children were crying. I picked up the kids one by one, and deposited them with their belongings by the door," he said.
The train was passing through Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam District when the pantry car caught fire. It soon spread to the next two coaches. The train pulled to a stop. Passengers evacuated calmly - which helped minimize injuries. But the first fire engine arrived an hour later. It took three fire engines about three hours to put out the flames.
The Railways have announced 5,000 rupees compensation for every passenger in affected coaches.
