Hazaribagh:
Yashwant Sinha, the senior BJP leader doing jail time in Jharkhand had an equally high-profile visitor today. LK Advani, 86, visited him today, nearly two weeks after Mr Sinha was arrested for leading a group that tied up an electricity board official in Hazaribagh, the constituency that Mr Sinha relinquished for his son in the recent national election. Mr Sinha, 76, has so far refused to pay bail, claiming he will not come out of jail till the electricity situation improves in Jharkhand. He has admitted in court to inciting BJP workers to tie up the Electricity Board official during a protest against a power crisis with prolonged outages. (

Sources say he has been upset that his party had not assigned a top representative to see him in prison.
Mr Advani and Mr Sinha are expected to meet for an hour.
Both men are seen as part of the old guard that was sidelined within the BJP by Narendra Modi and his A-team during the campaign for the recent election.
Mr Sinha, who has been union minister in the past, did not run for election this time; his son, Jayant, contested and won the parliamentary seat.
However, Jharkhand assembly elections are due in a few months from now, and many say this could be a move to establish a position in regional politics.
The case against him in Hazaribagh will next be heard on June 28.
