New Delhi: The Lok Sabha or the lower house of Parliament is discussing the issue of mob violence in the country. The opposition has been demanding a discussion on the subject.
Last week, the Congress demanded action against BJP parliamentarian Anurag Thakur for "filming" the Lok Sabha proceedings during a ruckus over recent cases of mob lynching.
The issue of mob violence found resonance in Rajya Sabha with a discussion on the atrocities against minorities and Dalits. The Opposition alleged the involvement of "some members" of the BJP and Hindu groups in these incidents. The government said such violence should not be given communal colour.
Veteran Congressman Mallikarjun Kharge opened the discussion.
