
Omar Abdullah and Sushma Swaraj tweeted each other on the protests in Kishtwar

Different parts of Jammu and Kashmir were tense today as protestors clashed with security forces after prayers were held for Eid.
The southern town of Kishtwar, 230 km north of Jammu, was put under curfew and the army was called in to help in controlling the situation. Police and paramilitary forces used batons and teargas to disperse mobs gathered in different parts of the town.
BJP leader Sushma Swaraj and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah exchanged tweets on the violence. Their tweet-ersation got positive feedback from others for its civil tenor. In one tweet, Ms Swaraj said, "I will not bypass the Chief Minister of J&K. Law and Order is the state subject." She later posted, "Chief Minister J&K has telephoned me to inform that army flag march is on and more forces are reaching Kishtwar."
In Srinagar, a police officer said dozens of protesters, police and paramilitary officers were injured in clashes, according to news agency AFP.
The injured included 19 police and paramilitary soldiers, said Kishore Prasad, a spokesman for the Central Reserve Police force.
Several separatist leaders had been put under house arrest on Thursday night to stop them from leading the protests on the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
