Jaipur:
The ongoing indefinite strike by advocates in Rajasthan ended at midnight on Tuesday in a dramatic manner after all judges the state High Court held a meeting and decided to do away with the disputed judicial service exams against which the lawyers were protesting.
The Rajasthan High Court had earlier in the day issued notices to agitating lawyers and the state government on a petition seeking to declare the strike illegal.
The lawyers are on a strike for almost a month alleging irregularities in the Rajasthan Higher Judicial Services examination (RHJS) 2010.
The Full Court of Rajasthan HC had a meeting in the midnight and all the judges unanimously decided to do away with the disputed examination conducted for the selection of 36 additional and district sessions judges.
