New Delhi: India's total tally of COVID-19 cases surged to 3,13,32,159 with 39,097 new infections being reported in a day, while the recoveries have crossed 3.05 crores, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The death count increased to 4,20,016 with 546 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
Meanwhile, drugmaker Bharat Biotech on Friday said it has scrapped agreements with two Brazilian companies amid controversy over a $324 million deal between the South American country and Bharat Biotech for the import of 20 million doses of the made-in-India COVID-19 vaccine Covaxin.
The termination of the agreements with Precisa Medicamentos and Envixia Pharmaceuticals came after the deal set off a major political row in Brazil and spawned an investigation by authorities in the country.

Coronavirus News: "Very low" Covaxin Stock, Meagre Supply Likely To Hit Inoculation, Says Bengal Official
A "very low" stock of Covaxin and a meagre supply of vaccines will badly affect the ongoing inoculation process in West Bengal, a senior health department official said Saturday, reported news agency PTI.
Bengal was supposed to get 75 lakh vaccine doses this month but has received 54 lakh till Friday, he said.
"The Covaxin stock in our state is very low. We have only one lakh and some small quantities in the hands of the districts. We were supposed to receive two tranches of a total of 2.55 lakh Covaxin doses which were not delivered as per schedule," the official said.

Delhi Cinemas Can Open At 50 % Capacity From Monday
Cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes in Delhi have been given a go-ahead to open at 50 per cent seating capacity from Monday. Metros and buses can operate at 100 per cent capacity Monday onwards. Spas have also been allowed to open with some restrictions in place.

Andhra Pradesh Reports 2,174 Covid Cases, 18 Deaths
Andhra Pradesh today reported 2,174 new Covid cases, 2,737 recoveries and 18 deaths over the past 24 hours, PTI reported. A health department bulletin said the number of active cases in the state is 22,358.
