India reported 32,937 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, besides 417 more deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the latest health update. The country's active caseload currently is 3,81,947, the lowest in 145 days. The active cases constitute 1.18% of total cases, lowest since March 2020.
Across the country, 3,14,11,924 in total have recovered so far, with 35,909 patients recovering during last 24 hours. The recovery rate now stands at 97.48%, the highest since March 2020, according to the health ministry.
So far, 54.58 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country, with 1743114 doses being administered during the last 24 hours, they said in today's update.

Assam's coronavirus tally soared to 5,80,657 Monday as 758 people tested positive for the infection in 24 hours, while 10 fatalities pushed the state's death count to 5,502, a health bulletin said, reported news agency PTI.

Chhattisgarh today recorded 68 cases of coronavirus and one related death, a health official said, reported news agency PTI.
9,89,128 patients have recovered from the infection so far in the state which now has 1,138 active cases, he said.
Madhya Pradesh's Covid tally rose to 7,92,043 today with the addition of seven cases, while one related death took the death count to 10,515, an official said, reported news agency PTI.
He said the recovery count stands at 7,81,434 and the state's active caseload is 94.
With 67,765 samples being examined during the day, the number of tests in Madhya Pradesh went up to 1,55,80,678, the official added.

Kerala today logged 12,294 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours, pushing the overall infection count to 36,81,965, as the number of related deaths rose to 18,743 with 142 fatalities in the same period.
Nashik's Covid tally reached 4,04,145 after 67 cases were detected today, an official said, reported news agency PTI.
Two deaths took the district's death count to 8,551, while the recovery count rose by 75 to touch 3,94,514, he said.
With 5,262 samples being examined today, the number of tests in Nashik went up to 23,76,310, the official added.

Uttarakhand has extended Covid curfew in the state till August 24, a state government order said, reported news agency ANI.
"Covid curfew to remain in force in the state from 6 am of August 17 to August 24, 6 am," said the order.
The vaccination exercise will continue during the curfew.
As per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 380 active Covid cases in the state.

India's cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 54.58 crores, said the Central government on Monday.
As per the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 54,58,57,108 vaccine doses have been administered through 61,54,235 sessions out of which 17,43,114 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
