British Prime Minister David Cameron, left, chats with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during their meeting in New Delhi
Kolkata:
British Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday said India ought to be a permanent member of the UN Security council (UNSC).
"We need to modernise the UN Security Council. The UNSC ought to include India as a permanent member, there is no doubt about that," Mr Cameron said during a 40-minute interaction with students of the Indian Institute of Management in Kolkata.
"The UN is not perfect but it is good to have such bodies in the world. We must back the UN," added Mr Cameron.
