Home Secretaries of India and Pakistan today concluded thefirst round of talks on several bilateral issues including the progress in theprobe of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Emerging after the meeting, Union Home Secretary G K Pillai said that the talkswere extremely positive.
"Progress is being made in the right direction", saidPillai.
Zaman too echoed the same sentiment but both refused todivulge any details.
Pillai is meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Chaudhary Qamar Zaman for twodays, the first planned bilateral meet since the 26/11 attacks.
Islamabad, according to sources, raised the issue of the Samjhauta Expressattacks.
Both countries reportedly are considering sharing informationon counter-terrorism.
New Delhi is also expected to bring up the issue ofPakistan's involvement in last year's violent protests in Jammu and Kashmir asalso the fake currency issue.
The meeting comes ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh andhis Pakistan counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani witnessing Wednesday'sIndia-Pakistan World Cup cricket semi-final clash in Mohali.
"Such efforts between the two sides would enhance peaceful relations andpromote people-to-people contact," Zaman had told reporters at theAttari-Wagah border before flying to Delhi.
